Hey all,

Just moved back to Chicago last fall. And since summer is coming up looking for some pulls on the weekends, or weeknights. I can drive the boat if need be, semi experienced did the college wakeboard club and fell in love with the sport.

Wake the World Illinois is being held August 7th on the Chain O'Lakes in Antioch Illinois at the Chain O'Lakes State Park. This is a benefit for the Rice Center children's home, who help children who are victims of neglect, abuse, and violence. They are looking to get around 14 boats or so to take the kids of that home out on the water for wakeboarding, surfing, skiing, kneeboarding, *cough* tubing *cough cough*, or even just going for rides and swimming.

I am not the one organizing the event, but I consider myself lucky enough to own a boat and have a job that will allow me to take the day off for this great cause, so I am volunteering to be one of the boats involved. If any of the other boat owners here want to help out and can take the day off work click on the link and sign up. If you're not a boat owner they are still looking for other volunteers, or even donations as little as $5.

the temp yesterday was 65. I am not sure at this point if I will be out wednesday or not. I work on pager, and don't always know how my day will work out in advance.

they simply block the bridges from traffic, they dont block the water flowage. The area that you can still access would still be warmer than most other places.

We Ride at the alton ski club all the time we are right across the river in alton, IL.

the club has a couple of ski boats with outboards.
And if we can keep increasing members we are looking into a wakeboard boat for next Summer.
